While lymphatic drainage looks like massage it is actually very different from massage. Massage has a focus on muscle whereas Maunal Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) focuses on the lymphatic system which resides in the area between the skin and muscle. MLD is effective but not limited to; pre/post surgery, lympedema(stages 0-4), cancer, lipoedema, immune disorders, detoxing, and general health.
MLD is useful in the healing from Plastic/Cosmetic surgeries.
*Tummy Tucks can create an edema response (swelling) and by using MLD the lyphatic flid is moved away from the TT area in order to reduces the swelling, brusing and pain that can accompany the procedure.
* Breast Augmentation/Top Surgery can receive relief from the swelling in order to improve the results of the surgery and dramatically increase the patient's level of comfort.
* Liposuction patients appreciate the pain reduction often experienced from receiving MLD, they can see their procedure results much sooner with eh swelling reduction.
*Explant/breast implant removal patients may experience a myraid of swelling or other edema responses because of the proximation of the lymph nodes in that area. Axillary webbing or cording is something that may appear while moving through the healing.
Pre/Post Natal Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women and their ever changing bodies. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pre/Post Natal Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
I have over 20 years experience working with Pre/Post natal women and their families through the Doula work I have done. While I have retired from the Doula work, knowledge, skill, and experience are the many tools I can access in your journey.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
